One of many Shaker pieces to be featured at our Shaker Auction: Lot 50. Shaker Blanket chest in the original chrome yellow paint, Mt Lebanon, NY, previously exhibited at the Shakers, an Exhibition Concerning their Furniture Artifacts and Religion...Hartford, 1975. ( Ed Clerk Collection) Classic Shaker community rocking chair from Watervliet, NY, circa 1830,maple and tiger maple in original finish, from the Gus Nelson Collection, as well as a New Lebanon cupboard over drawers. Many other pieces from collections include examples Shaker of basketry from another prominent collector/scholar, a partial collection of Shaker antiques from the Enfield, Conn. Community with direct provenance from a consignor whose mother lived with the Shakers.
