poster sale will be held on November 3.
The auction features 386 poster lots of the themes Travel & Sports, Military
& Propaganda, Advertising,
Art & Culture, Film and Work Incentive.
The sale will begin with 64 ADVERTISING posters from the 1890s through the 1950s and a selection of 35 MODERN DESIGN and CULTURAL EVENTS posters. Following a small group of 1929 MATHER WORK INCENTIVE posters is a large collection of 125+ poster lots related to American World War I propaganda as well as European posters form the inter-war period between 1918 and 1939. The sale concludes with a fine selection of approx. 150 TRAVEL & SPORTS posters. Among the auction highlights are Jupp Wiertz's zeppelin poster titled A Pleasant Trip to Germany, a rare 1930s American railway poster for Atlantic City, Hutaf's famous Join the Tanks poster and a hand-signed Roy Lichtenstein from the exhibition Reflections on Roy. |
